Zetor 5340 had to replace Twose Topper and bought a Fleming 9 feet Heavy Duty with PTO clutch.
On connecting the the lower arms had to raise them by about 120mm, I then returned the the control back down. On topping the skids which are smaller than the Twose are leaving deep groves in the field, should I be raising the arms to lift it, is the tractor inserting downward pressure?

Thanks David

Your tractor can't produce downward pressure, the arms fall of their own accord. So leaving tracks is a result of your narrow skids and poor ground conditions, and holding up the topper would not good for the tractor nor the topper.

If it's a side mounted topper, try lengthening the top link so the front of the topper is slightly off the ground.

Thanks,
Is rear mounted.

Have a problem now with it lifted for transporting and it suddenly drops and then goes up and down violently. The Mode selection lever is set to M, I assume that is correct. Have checked transmission oil level.
Why is it doing this, is there somthing wrong with the tractor hydraulics. never had that with the other topper.

Thanks David

Put the hydraulic lever in P position, if it keeps dropping and lifting by itself you could have a leak in the lift cylinder and has only shown up from the heavier weight.

If the lift is constantly going down and re-lifting by itself when you weight on the lift, the rings in the lift cylinder need replacing which is under the lift cover, under the floor behind the seat.

Thanks
The lever for lifting has marked UP, DOWN, POSITION, FREE, MAX DEPTH, where should it be when topping? I have been moving right forwards to MAX DEPTH.
