Hi all,new to this site ive just bought a 3045 that was prked up on a farm for the last 7 yrs.got it towed home all the wheels are not moving(prob brakes )on a trailer.a lot of the levers etc are very stiff but id like to no what all the levers do dont understand alot of them as im used to just a fergy t20 and i dont wont to damage anything.engine wise i dipped the oil and it lookes fine no milk or water and i removed the starter and the flywheel is very free(lucky me)so im looking to try and start it up,any advise would be very appreciated.cheers jason

Hi all, tryed to start the zetor today, the engine spins over nice, plenty of fuel up to the diesel pump(undo the small bleed nut)but there is no diesel coming out of the pump to the injector pipes.any help or advise would be great.thanks jason

pump mechanism is stuck. open the hatch, spray WD40 or MoS2 and pry it loose with a screwdriver.

thanks for that, ive tryed that its abit better, still not pumping diesel and ive noticed bits of metal look to have broken off in between the springs behind the hatch.does this meen the pump is knackered or can these parts be replaced, thanks jason

hi,had my pump removed today, the rack is seized so off to be repaired, does any one no if the rear mud guards are still available as mine are rotten, thanks jason

I've never had a pump that couldnt be cured with MoS2 and a screwdriver...

hi,just a quick update.my pump was removed and has gone to be repaired, bits were broken of in the middle of the pump where the springs are(they look the same as valves and springs in a cylinder head)sorry it doesnt sound like i no what im talking about ?hope to get it back soon.jason

:) Happy days, got my recon diesel pump back today and fitted it and all is well, engine sounds a sweet as a nut considering its been under a hedge for 7 yrs.anyway can any one tell me if my tractor is supposed to be + or - earth.thanks jason

Hi.just a quick update, got the tractor now started, tryed all the gears and all seems to be working fine.the rear brakes were stuck on tho>:)anyway managed to get one side released by going forward/backwards andthe other side is tight.can any one advise on how hard it is to do the brakes on these, also need to replace the brake cylinder as its rotten.
another question how to remove the steering wheel as i wont to start stripping and cleaning parts.
there also looks like a lot of play in the steering box whats this like to repair/service.sorry to rant on but any advise would be good.thanks jason

Hi,

I removed my steering wheel using a set of hydraulic bearing pullers. Remove the centre cap and you'll find a castle headed nut remove the split pin and nut. If you can get a set of pullers with a clamp attachment all the better, fit the attachment below the spokes of the steering wheel attach the pullers and anchor them on the centre on the steering shaft. Then start to tighten the pullers. Depending on the your tractor this might take a lot of pressure, if the pullers wont tighten anymore lift a hammer and tap the centre of the steering carefully!! you need enough force to shock the wheel into moving but not much that you damage it!

Good Luck!

Sean

HI, IVE NOW MANAGED TO REMOVE THE STEERING WHEEL WITH A SET OF PULLERS:)ALSO I HAD TO REMOVE THE ROLL BAR TO REMOVE THE FUEL TANK TO CLEAN OUT AND PAINT.IM LOOKING TO TRY TO DO THE REAR BRAKES NEXT ANY ADVISE OR LEAVE TO AN EXPERT,LOOKS LIKE WE NEED TO REMOVE THE REAR HUBS.THANKS JASON

Dont know if u have dealt with the brakes yet, yes u have to take off the half shaft housings and everything is inside at gearbox end. I bet the stuck brakes are rusted on handbrake bands. These are inside the housing as well, and if u run the tractor back and forwards it usually breaks off the stuck on pad from the steel band. Let me know if u still want advice and I will respond.

great thanks for reply,we did drive forward and backwards and that released the one side and we undone the handbrake band to get the other side free.the tractor has been stood for 8/9 years so i want to replace all the brake bits and wheel cylinders,do you think we could tackle the job in our shed ha ha,any advise on doing the job and the pitfalls would be great.jason
