hi everyone
i was wondering if the 4WD on an 8045 cant be used in the low torque like the older small zetors. I just wanted to find out before i did try it as its my new toy and i dont wanna do any damage!!! also, can extra spool valves be fitted easily?? another question and i swaer its the last one, how do zetors compare to fords for traction and PTO power?? thanks again

Adrian

cant help with the 4wd

my loader spool valve is under the offside front cab floor with rods up through the floor to levers to the right of the steering wheel.... feed is from one of the rear trailer pipes with return into the large plug near to the top of the rear of the main casting.... when the hedge cutter goes on its spoolvalve gets pugged into the other trailer pipe and teed into the loader return.

ive never thrashed any fords but the crystal took the jd precision chop forage harvester as well as my neighbours leyland 285 six pot.... when he got tired off repacing bits of leyland clutch he got a 8011 as well...not really sure if the leylands clutch problems were due to the rubber engine mounts or the quater inch of end play on the crankshaft:)

thanks for that:) i was thinking of mounting an old loader valvechest on the rear end of the crystal n use it to power a topper, cos its very awkward if you need to use the lift arms and the hydraylics at the same time....

What you describe, 4wd not able to use in low gear range, was only on the 3045 and 3545 because there was no room in the gearbox to fit an idler gear to drive the 4wd shaft at the speed of the rear axle pinion shaft, regardless if high or low range was selected. Therefor they used the gear of the low range, which meant the 4wd didnt shift with the hi/lo but ran at a constant speed.
The 5511 has a much longer gearbox (used throughout the entire range untill now) with room for an idler gear to drive the propshaft.

Anyways, you can use the 4wd in every gear on the 8045.
