How do i change from the 540 to 1000 shaft and do i have to shift it somehow my tractor doesn't have a lever for that

Then yours doesnt have 1000rpm PTO... Some just didnt have it, some had a shuttle reverser, crawl gears or split shift instead.

Mine has two levers one for hi lo trans and one for hydraulic and to turn on but it has the extra stub shaft

then the extra stub shaft on top, is the shift shaft.. perhaps you miss the cap with the handlebar so you cant see it as being a lever ?

So how do i remove the one from the back

theres an inner hex head screw inside of it
