Ran perfect-plenty of power-still concerned about the brakes but used it steady for 1-1/2 hrs or so then felt all around on the axles and felt no heat build up..brakes do stop the tractor.I don't touch the park brake lever because it will not release in spite of all I have done to free up the cross shaft, linkage etc..Planning to take it to one of my Dad's 20 acre tracts of land and give it a good working then decide if it is a keeper --- hydraulics not right--no lift unless PTO is spinning-steering not much better than manual but maybe that is the way it is suppose to be..Got it dirt cheap so I guess it is worth giving it an honest trial and trying to work out as many bugs as I can.

What oil is in the power steering ? It wont work on gear oil, too thick for the servo valve to get actuated. ATF is best, but ISO 21 works too (if you're able to aquire it) ATF is more commonly available.

oil pump works in the lowest position of the left hand small lever on the floor. one up is PTO + hydraulics, two up is neutral, three up (4th or highest position) is ground speed PTO.

Renze, I think the correct oil would be in the power steering, looks thin and is what was in it when I got it-wouldn't surprise me if it is the oil that was in the tractor when bought 20 yrs ago. Tractor is one owner(place where I have worked for 36 yrs) Tractor wasn't used much...anyway will check the steer fluid closer---So when working correctly, is the power steering pretty effective on these old tractors??---As far as PTO lever, I can't get it to do anything except in the "all the way forward..PTO turns all the time and lift works..Only other position I want is lift with no pto turning..Thanks

Actually PTO turns and hydraulic lift works when the lever is pushed all the way forward--if I could find the adjustment turnbuckle I would try shortening the linkage a tiny bit and see what happens.. Can't find the adjustment-is it on the right side? Left side? Does floorboard have to come off to see it?? Any clues are appreciated..Thanks
