5341 tach and guages

When I turn the key on the tractor goes through the gauge test (they sweep through the range then go back to zero) when I start the tractor the tach starts to work then within a few seconds stops working, I can't figure this out and ideas why that might happen?

Did you check the wires down at the engine sensor, it's like they are loose when you start up the vibrations are shaken the contact.

thanks for the reply, it turned out to be an alternator issue, got that sorted and the air compressor stopped making pressure, seems to work but not pressurizing tank.
