Hi, Im new here! I finally found a proper Zetor tractor forum! So nice!

Ok heres the problem: I can probably buy a 5511 1970 that has been parked outside for a while, according to the owner about 3 yrs. According to my observations of the nearby biology, lichens on tyres, moss etc .. at least 10 yrs.

The gearbox is stuck, which I understand now (from this forum) is a regular problem on these. He has had the problem before and fixed it, but now he doesn't care to much since he doesnt really need it, and it has been "perma-parked" since.

I read somewhere at this forum about five bolts in a row that were to be taken out to solve this issu with stuck gears, are those placed directly in front of the two levers between seat and dash? There was a row of five holes perpendicular to the driving direction, no bolts in them... whats underneath? Bad?

If it has been "perma-parked" for a long time it is clearly a non-runner, what is to fix/check/lookout for engine-wise etc? (and big NONO's!!)

If I can get it rolling I can probably tow it back home with my Ferguson TEA-20.

Many questions at the same time.. but I kind of like that tractor.???

Help me out here please!

Cheers, Ludwig:eek:

Go for it!

If the engine block is not cracked and it looks mechanically allright then negotiate a good price and what have you to loose?

You are ahead of the game having the Fergy to tow it home.

Yes, that is how I see it too, but I dont want to end up with a pile of junk in my front yard.. I hope its not too much of a project to get it running, I also hope that those five bolts missing and thus creating five holes into the top of the trannybox will matter too much.

If I get it rolling, then I just wish my Fergy will manage to pull it home since the road is quite steep along the route.

I cant wait to get his price offer.. then I can decide if its worth it or not.
