Hello all, ive been a member for a while but this is my first post. I have a few old tractors and have been a lifelong zetor fan from my grandfathers 4911 followed by 6011 to driving crystal 8011s for a local contractor and once having the pleasure of driving a 12045 for a day.
I recently bought a 5545 which was heading to the scrap yard, it really was only fit for scrap with a cracked block and seized engine etc but seein as it is a pretty scarce model round here i decided to save it and salvage what i could. The front axle is worn but ok with nothing broken and the drop box is perfect without any damage. A 3511 has just come up for sale near me, scruffy tinwork but runs well and i was wondering could i convert it to 4wd using the parts of the 5545, i have always fancied a 3545. So my questin is, is the diff ratio the same in 5545 front axle as 3545 axle(i know they have different axles) and will the drop box be the same as 3545, i dont mind a bit of engineering to make things fit, just wondering if its possible. Many thanks, Mark.
I finally got around to doin a bit with my 5545 front axle. When I turned the propshaft there was nothing happening with the front wheels so after a bit of stripping this seems to be the problem.
Does anyone know what this is? I presume its some type of clutch to allow for difference in speed between front and rear axles?
