Hi boys,
The left hand brake on my 5711 has always been worse than the right, and after leaving it out for a few nights then using it the next day the brakes were snatching big time. After trying to back up to free off the left brake it sort of worked, but after driving it for a few miles the left is binding and smoking like a 60 a day old boy!
How do you adjust the brakes shoes? Or it it done at the pedals?
I did wonder if the rain had made somthing rust enough to cause jip, but got it good and hot so should have freed off?
Failing that, its a stripdown I suppose, with a chainhoist saving the day.
Any advice would be grand, cheers boys. :)
Oops just seen you post Renze! Sorry!

It wouldn't be the hand brake band catching rather than the shoes would it?

Thanks for the suggestion, but it wasnt that in the end- the brake shoes had seized in the pins, and one of the shoes actually sheared into two pieces, riding ontop of the other- never seen that before!
So its all back together now, so fingers crossed it'll work ok. ;)
