Zetor 5711
Hi all😊,
Been a good few years since I’ve been on here so please be tolerant with me!
I had a 5711 which I sold in troubled times, then since bought a MF🫣, but always preferred my zetor , so am just about to get another 5711!
Trouble is, it’s left brake is stuck on…. . The things been left outside uncovered for years, although it has been used yearly apparently🤨. I freed off the right brake by feeding a chain through one ot the wheel spokes ,round the tyre, and back onto itself, then lifted it with a hilift Jack. Wouldn’t work on the left side sadly. There’s no pressure on the pedals, so no brakes , and no handbrake either!? ‘Tis missing?! Engines a bit unknown too, but the exhausts been covered, rads full of antifreeze, oil looks ok too. Alternators solid, but could turn the belt enough to move the crank a bit each way🙏😂.
Any tips how to free the brake just to roll it guys? I did brake work on my last one, but would appreciate any advice just to help get it home. Thinking about making a skid/slipper to stick under the jammed side left tyre to get it onto a trailer🤔.
Thanks for your help👍

Brake fluid constantly absorbs water and often changes color from "beer" to "black tea." If it's been sitting outside that long, some of it will be rusted solid.
Coolant isn't just there for antifreeze, but (at least equally important) also for rust protection and rubber and seal care. The antifreeze effect lasts forever, but the rust protection and seal care usually wear off within 2-3 years, and then the seals harden, and rust gets into the engine block...

To release your brakes without using force, you'll probably have to loosen the portal, which is stuck. So, remove it to pull off the brake drum and, if necessary, free up the brake shoes, or just remove it first if nothing else works.
