Have brake problem on my 5718.
Need to replace brake cylinders and shoes, not sure about handbrake band, my tractor has a cab .
Is there much involved in doing this job myself, would be great if someone who has done same could give me some tips in doing the job. I'm in Ireland, any idea how much parts will cost.

hello, I`m sorry to say i don`t know about prises, worckvice you will have to rise the cab a bitt inn the rear and propp it up then you bolt of the halfaxle from the diffhouse, you will need some sort of hoyst to lift them off and on,they weigh ca 130kg and you nedd to reach under the muddgard so an enginelift is best. onse you are innside you will see the handbrake band ass it is outside of the drum, the drum itself follows the axle out and is held in place by circlip, it is best to replace oilseal to when you take the drum off otherwice it is an simple jobb, only the handbrake need adjusting. i`we done this jobb inn a half hour one side but i done one where all the bolts had rusted, it tokk the hole day to do the two sides.

Biarne you make the job seem simple,
So I need to loosen front cab mounten bolts, then take out rear mounten bolts and jack up cab a small bit. Do I need to remove any thing else??????
then can I remove the rear axle housing with the portal as one unit or do I have to split rear axle from the portal?????
Is it after I have removed rear axle housing that I will then have to remove circlip to get brake drum off ???/
Many thanks for your reply and if anyone else has any tips or point on same post them.
One more point what about adjustments ?????

Hi, Well the jobb is simple, you don`t have to loosen the front of the cab, only the rear, offcorse the brake pipes has to be loosend and you migt have to loosen the handbrake adjustment, a 19mm nut beside the driver seat. good luck

And remember to connect the diff lock on the right side before you take the half axle out. Easier to get it together again when you are finish with the brake overhauling.
