My 1996 6340 4X4 was pushing some snow the other day. Young fellow workin for me hoped in it and went to put it in gear, forward/reverse selector, made a horrible grind and then it when quiet. He got out and said the tractor won't move. The fw/rev lever moves back and forth with out the clutch but feels like it is connecting with something in there. But he was right, the tractor wont move. Anyway, on my way out there this morning to pull the top off the trans and see if I can figure out what happened. If anybody has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Broke the shifting yoke. Grind a vee slot in it, weld and grind the weld flat. My brother broke the yoke of our 4712 once.

Check for a small bolt or C-pin first. On the 5245 we replaced both C-pins on PTO and gear range levers with a piece of a 6 inch nail.

Thanks for the advise, I'll be pulling the top off the trans in the morning. I will keep you posted on my progress.

;)
