Hi The alternater on my 6341 is scrap! i need a new alternater but not going to pay the 170 pounds everyone seems to want for one!
WHY??? it costs 35 pounds for an alternater for my David Brown! i want to know where to get a cheaper alternater, i don,t mind if the revcounter does not work. I was thinking there most be a lucas alternater that will fit even if i have to modify brackets and wiring . I just refuse to pay the rediculas price of 170 pounds.

local auto electricians, motor factors, ebay and zetor dealer. i,m really thinking 35 pound lucas unit and do with out the revcounter.

i put a lucas one on my 6711 and its works a treat. had to use the pulley of the original though and mod the bracket with a few spacers on the bolts to make sure the pulleys lined up, but it works!
edit: just remembered i also had to fit an additional 'charge' lamp and bypass the regulator, and a spot of rewiring.

Lucas LRA101 unit fitted, took 40 minutes to fit including modifying it to fit, cost 43 pounds in total much better than 170 pounds!

I once fitted the cheapest ISKRA for 50 euro. It took a couple of months to fail from new. Now using an original Magneton for 120 euro and i havent looked at it again in years.

Fitted the same type of Lucas unit to my Case digger 8 years a go and it,s still working just as it should.
