6718 hunting on idle

Can any one help? started the tractor up today and runs ok but when returned to idle it hunts bad any ideas? fuel seems ok its the first time its done it.

Hi

Check the oil level in the rear section of the injection pump.

Hi Mike

Is there any sort of level plug etc or is it just filled up from the engine oil when its running . Thank you

There's a plug at the rear quite low down.

Early this summer, my brother asked my help to get his 2011 going again, it did turn but didnt get fuel.
We opened the governor cap, moved the rack with pliers and started the engine after putting some oil in it. It was bone dry !!
When it ran, the oil became rust red immediately. When it was functioning normal again, we let the rusty oil drain and put new in it. Now its perfect !
