I recently put on new master & slave cylinders, balls and springs along with 4 new disc brakes. I put axles back on but the wheels do not turn freely when gears are in neutral. They do turn if I put the tractor in gear and there are no weird noises. Is this normal?

It makes the rear adjusting nut impossible to set as I was told to tighten the nut until the wheels stopped turning but unless in gear they don't turn.

I have also tried to bleed the cylinders on the bleed nipple of the slave cylinder. However nothing is coming through the master cylinder but there is fluid to the top of master cylinder.

Should I fill the master cylinders with fluid by hypodermic needle or something? can someone run through basic bleeding of this tractor.

I am pretty rubbish at mechanics but happy to have a go. Before posting I have read an tried a lot of the techniques.

I am located near Bewdley, worcestershire.

All help appreciated.

Have you any free play on the master cylinder pushrods? We are based not far away from Bewdley www.zetorworld.co.uk

Aah! yes I remember I have bought parts off you before many years ago for a 6748. Good service! Bloody forgot you were there and bought Roy Perfect..my apologies.

If there is a gap..should I tighten up, what gap do you recommend? I was wondering if the master cylinder wasn't coming back far enough the fluid wouldn't be able to get in and thats why it is dry but am unsure of the inner workings
However;

The brake pedal goes to the floor and actauall hits the brake pipe so I am thinking close the free play to about 1mm?

Yes close the gap to 1mm,

thanks Alan happy Christmas to you

Closed the gap to 1mm and no joy, Grrrr!

Removed master cylinders and looked down the top where the fluid goes in... there are two holes big and small.

On one master cylinder after pushing and when the it returns to normal starting position the big hole is open, on the other the hole is almost closed... which one is correct and is there a way of adjusting the wrong one?

on further inspection they have different codes on them

k8 (3) and K9 (5) ??? although both have HV 1901 fragokov
