hi i have just fitted a new hydraulic pump to my faithfull 8011. but now have lost use of PTO and the torque multiplyer.Have changed oil and filters, micro pump is working well but have noticed that there is no oil being returned to the screw on filter.Has anybody any suggestions please.
Dave

The micro pump has a airlock, top the gearbox oil up to the top mark & add another 5 litres of oil, reverse the tractor upon a ramp to raise the backend by 300mm or more, stop the engine & leave for 5 mins or so. Start engine & allow to idle, in this raised position try the PTO it should work!

hi, we done what you suggested but still with no success. The micropump is pumping fluid from the smaller outlet pipe that goes to the top of the rear axle in the cab ok, but there is still no oil returning to any of the pipes on top of the gearbox.thanks for your reply.

I have a feeling that you are confusing the micro pump which works the assister ram on 8011's and is the small piston pump on the right in the clutch housing with the TA pump which works the TA, PTO & 4WD when fitted. This pump can't be seen as its on the inside of the gearbox bulkhead. It draws oil from the same place as the main pump and delivers it to the control box on top of the gearbox under the floor on the left. you can identify it when the floor is out because of the pto & TA levers that go into it.
There is the relief valve inside that can be adjusted to 175 psi and this pressure is checked with a guage on one or the other of the pipes that go into the PTO pack at the RH rear of the tractor.
I think that Alan is probably correct when he says you have an airlock; but I find that you need to face the tractor down the steepest hill you can find and give it full revs for a short time to get the pump to start working again.

Hi,you are correct, i am getting the two pumps mixed up. I have know purchased a manual and can see where the ta pump is positioned, we have had the tractor about fifteen years and have never had any promblem with the hydraulics and must admit it is a bit confussing to us,i will add more oil and find a steeper embankment tommorrow ,thanks to Dave and alan
