Just taken delivery of an 8540.
So far done a couple of days mowing and found it very comfortable-not been chucked around in cab as in fords or j.d's.with air suspended seats!!!!!!
Question; lift and lower of the mower seems a bit slow. I have set hydraulics in position control and have used both lever and switch to activate. I have tried the response setting lever below the main lever in both positions and it moves the lever on the top, back of the gearbox o.k via the cable. A friend suggested that the hydraulic oil filter being changed may help , but I was thinking that that may not be the case as the slow lowering would surely not be affected by filter, would it?
Also I thought pto startup was a bit slow.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I have the same tractor and agree hydraulic response with light mounted implements seems slow. Personally I got used to it but you could try removing the assistor ram and plugging pipe which is the probable "bottleneck."
