Im repairing my tractor, a Zetor 6045 with an engine Z 6001.
Ive disassembled the engine and Im now going to assemble the connecting rod on the crankshaft. But Ive discovered a heel on the connecting rods upper part and wonder now in which direction the heel should be turned (lefthand or righthand from behind).

:(

Hi Mikael, the tang in the conrod you refer to should face the right hand side (camshaft side) of the engine. To confirm, there should be a knob that juts out from the little end of the conrod, this should be on the fuel pump side.

Sorry Mikael, just read your post a little better, if the heel you are referring to is the knob that juts out from the little end of the conrod, this faces the fuel pump side. If you are referring to the little notches in the inside of the big end journal, these face the camshaft side.
Here is a link to a cross section of the engine, this may help you. http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc456/az91178/Engine.jpg
