I have lost brake / clutch fluid from my reservoir on my 1980's 7245 with my clutch pedal going to the floor and my brake pedal low.
The only sign of fluid loss coming from behind the off side rear wheel flange which holds the wheel studs although I dont know if this will be related ot otherwise.
Any ideas anyone , I removed the rear wheel however beyond that its not evident what could be wrong.

Hi Richard,

If the fluid you've spotted is at the outsite end of the final drive shaft, it isn't brake fluid.
Fluid loss can occure at:

the clutch or brake master cylinders
the clutch slave cylinder
the brake balance valve (compensator valve)
any of the pipes (look for paint off. Its a good paint stripper)
the brake wheel cylinders. These may be external if you have discs brakes or internal with drum brakes.

If you can't find a leak it is most likely the internal wheel cylinders. Axle off job !!

Good luck

Mike

If you are in UK I'ts probably the disc brake on a 7245.
The slave cyls are underplastic covers on the Axlle housing.
Tht Clutch reservoir is in the centre of the brake reservoir, so what usually happens is that you lose clutch first if the leak is on either the clutch master cylinder or the clutch slave cylinder. they are usually obvious !!
I wish Zetor wound get their act together as regards rubber quality.

Ye thats true.

but i have fragokov ones on my 3545 and them seem good.

the problem is that indian ones are making their way to here there and everywhere!

.i was asked by someone i know to fit a new master to a 6211 i looked over it and could not see fragokov? but there was a stamp. (made in india) i went ahead and fitted it and it didnt last 2 weeks. i told her i would get one and i went to my dealer and insisted for a new stock one. its been on 5 months and trouble free!
