I would appreciate any help on replaceing my wheel cylinder on a 6245 zetor . Specifically on what will need to be removed to do the job. The manual that i have isn't real specific. I can see that there is a plate that can be removed, or will I have to take the whole housing off to do this. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

You'll have to take the complete portal off to get to it. It's very heavy so you really need a small hydraulic crane, if not, make an appointment at the back man ready for when you've finished.
Don't take the plate off as it only locates the handbrake band.

you need an engine hoist, a forklift or a front loader to lift the portal from under the mudguard.
Replace the shaft seals as well, and check if the intermediate support bearing turns freely.

Thanks for the information. I am starting to get a better picture of how to do this, the only thing concerning me is it looks like the left rear cab mount will have to be unbolted and that seems exceessive for a wheel cylinder replacement. Thanks again for the replys. If anyone else can think of anything that you might think I could find useful please let me know.

Stuff a piece of wood under the cab, take the central bolt out of the silentblock rubber, and let the portal swing all the way down. then you can slide the shaft out of the diff.
Remount in reverse order, slide it all the way in and then turn the portal, including the cab mount, back under the cab.
