Hi,
front left wheel came off my zetor 4718 todat can anyone tell me what i will need and the cost plus how to do job as money is tight but dont really know much about mechanics either-thanks
We had a 4712 that popped the right front wheel bearings every two years.
There are two bearings, a big inner bearing and a smaller outer bearing. Undo the retaining pin, castle nut and take the wheel off: Clean everything with cloth to make sure all the old grease (which now contains metal particles of the old bearings) is gone. Then grease it before putting the bearings back: Pack as much grease into the hub as you can: this requires hand work so keep the cloth at hand, to wipe your hands when you're done.
I dont know the torque setting for the bearing (maybe thats why it kept going every 2 years, i did that job since i was 10) but hand-tight is enough. (that means, as tight as you can get it with just one hand on the wrench !)
