Hi people.

We need for a very specific situation a small tractor , pulling a normal truck-trailer with airbrakes. Which brakes for safety reasons NEED TO be working.
I can't modify the trailer because of legal reasons, it needs to be suitable for being pulled by a truck.

I can buy a very decent Zetor 6011 with of course compressor.

We will fit an extra airtank onto it, and the other things we need (hoses, valves, connectors etc, and connect this to the brakepedal. )

IMPORTANT Question:

Will the compressor survive continuous use (in our case about 1 hour at a time) filling up our airtanks (with blowoff valve) and will its capacity be sufficient??

I aim my search at Zetor because of its standard-fit compressor, but am I right with this??

Please I hope to get some fast answers, because time is limited in this project.

thanks in advance,

Edzo

Hi

I would say yes it will be okay. It may be a little slow depending on the compressor wear but should be okay. The bigger and the newer Zetors have the compressor running all the time for some air operated functions which they have so it should be okay. I haven't any air flow output figures for it but they usually run at about 6 Bars pressure, but will screw up a bit higher if needed.
Hope this helps

Mike

Thanks for your answer.

Let's hope it will work out..... I found some figures in internet : about 180 litres/minute and 6,4 bar.
I hope this will do the job.......

maybe screw it up a little.......but I dont want it to crash, and block the fuel pump. (that's what can happen right??)

Greetings Edzo

These compressors are used all over Central Europe for trailer air brakes. They are built to do this job.

Okay, so we 've bought the Zetor 6011 as mentioned. Next monday there will be fitted an air-pressure braking system for the trailer .

I'm curious!

For now: I've tried it driving, everything works fine, nice handy smooth riding tractor, with sufficient power for our job. Brakes gears, clutch, power-steering work ok.

I think I have found just the right tractor for us.
