question Conventional or Synthetic Diesel engine oil?

Have always run conventional diesel engine oil (Rotella T4) but considering switching to a synthetic such as Rotella T5. Is one better for tractors than the other or just a matter of personal preference? Thanks!
 
If the tractor doesn't specify that it needs a synthetic oil you don't need to use it, however in cold it might be better as it won't be as thick when it is cold. It probably wouldn't do too much of a difference I presume so I'd personally choose the cheaper one.
