Quoting internationalXL and Skin7245 as these posts were moved from another thread:
While i would have to say the 7711 was some little rocket once we figured out the oil coming out of the crank case breather problem.[/ -- End of Quote -- ]

Inter, what did you do to fix the breather problem? My 7245 drives me nuts with it devious I can work the proverbial out of it with a 2.5m rototiller, runs clean, minimal blowby, but still drips too much. Was thinking of seeing if I could modify the baffle system to stop it, but I also think the breather would be more at home on a lawn mower. They are too small diameter, too much velocity, and blows the oil returning from the heads out the breather. Oil is too expensive these days to leave laying around my crops!!

We pointed the breather upwards so it had an extra 10cm of gravity for the oil to overcome.

We did that because it had blow-by when we first got it, as the piston rings were stuck because it hadnt worked at its previous owner. Later the blowby stopped, so we never experienced the oil dripping WITHOUT piston blow by, because we already pointed the breather upwards...

quoting InternationalXL:
The crankshaft breather pipe is on the same line as camshaft if i remember correctly thus a lot of splash going on there. How it was fixed was looking at the IH 1055 walking across the yard and see that they had a u bend put on there pipe. Just like that turn around and head for the 7711 with this new info .God what oil was lost up to that point .Learn a lot off those machines they had good designers when those products where been concieved.Still learning:D:

My 3011 as well as all the other 3 cylinders had a big vent in the fill cap. The four cylinders were to be filled by a bung on the centrifugal filter.

When looking at the 7 series parts manual , the drawing shows the breather pointing up too, with a hose attached... I think mine has a metal stick pointing downward...
the 12 series manual shows it running 20 degrees from horizontally, though on our 5245 is was running straight down...

As an addition needs to be noted: Zetor engines get their piston rings stuck when they dont work enough. They dont wear out in 6000 hours, you just need to work them to get enough exhaust gas temperature to burn the soot off. So blow-by can be cured by putting the engine to work, its a different problem.

When i pushed the IH 1056 HARD. The u bend on the breather pipe would let a drop of oil out so many drops can add up as filler cap is on highest point in engine fitted a vented filler cap solved the problem that was over ten years ago .With crankcase breather pipes different maufactures have come up with different solutions zetor was a little late to the table with it offering as i,m sure there many zetor still wasting a little oil every day .
