Engine rpm

Hello fellow Zetor drivers

Im a proud owner of a 6045 -82 that i use mostly for forestery work and for this the tractor works great.
I also often use it for transporting loggs to the mill, bringin home firewood and so on. These transports usually takes about a hour or so and it would be nice to speed it up a bit.
Can i adjust the pump to get a higher rpm? How do i do this? is it safe? After all its still a tractor and not buildt for high speeds but a little bit higher rpm should be ok or?????

2450 rpm is max. if you turn it over it would risk damaging the valves. you could put on 34 inch tires instead that would give it a little bit more speed. but it would leave little or no room for snow Chains.

To turn it up to 2450 (if its safe) would be a step up already
cause now when i give it full trottle it only goes to 2200.
Are they suppost to go to 2450 and are these engines built to last
for this type of use? I mean road transport at high rpm.
I got the feeling that some engines are better built for this type of use than others..?

2450 is safe. yes they are supposed to run at 2450. and the engines are buildt to last. no problems in running on full throttle. its actually worse to run on low rmp and light work for long times, than full throttle.

our 5245 was adjusted to idle at 2600rpm at empty road traffic. Its because the step between 4 and 5th was too high for the standard 45hp setting... We turned it open to just under 60 so it could pick up rpms when shifting from 4th 2500rpm to 5th 1300rpm and still be able to get back in the torque band, with a 10 ton trailer behind it.

Thanks for your answers guys

Looks like mine is set to low since it only reaches 2200. It wouldnt hurt to hav a few xtra hp when im pulling a full lumber trailer.
How do i adjust the pump for some more hp and rpm?
