fluid from Bell housing-no clutch

This is a follow up to my earlier post about the 6320 clutch. Fluid does pour from the drain on the bottom right of the bell housing when I pump the clutch. Clutch then loses pressure and pedal stays on the floor. There are no external leaks showing.

Does the slave cylinder extend into the bell housing ? What's happening do you think?

Hi

Everything connected to the clutch fluid system is outside the bell housing here in the UK. I don't know which country you are in and whether you have a different spec tractor there, with internal clutch hydraulics.
Check the rubber pipe from the master cyl down to the slave cyl. It could be leaking and running down. The clutch pedal shouldn't stick down as it should have a return spring on it.

I am in northern British Columbia, Canada and I believe the tractor was built in Europe. It is very cold and snowy outside so I really want to know what I am doing before I go out and take things apart. No heated shop, just a barn.

Had the slave cylinder go out on my 6341 the first winter I had it. The next winter the clutch master cylinder went out. Sounds just like your problem now. The company sent me the parts to fix the problems. On some model of Zetors the seals in clutch and brake systems would not tolerate cold weather. The brakes on my tractor also leaked, Zetor sent new brake cylinders. The OEM materials in the seals were designed for warm climates

Thanks George. That covers the brakes. What do you think about the fluid draining from the bell housing? My guess is a seal from the transmission but I hope I am wrong. Both problems happened at the same time but they may not be related?

is it brake fluid or oil you have coming from the bel housing?

There should not be any direct connection from the clutch cylinder system to the inside of the bellhousing. possibly when you push the clutch it could put pressure on the input shaft for the transmission, which could leak if the seal is bad. Are you sure it is brake fluid leaking out?

The slave cylinder on the 6341 is close to the bellhousing. Could it be that a hose close to the bell is leaking and letting the fluid squirt over to and run down the bell. If you lose pressure to the clutch it would be one or both cylinders or a leaking line.

Hi William

If You have clean oil trickling from the bell housing it is almost certainly coming from the transmission. Is it overfull ?
It may be the seals or the front figure 8 cover could be loose.

Thanks for your observations and advise. The clutch problem was the slave cylinder and I have one on order.The fluid coming from the drain at the front of the bell housing is hydrolic fluid.
