I need some opinions about 18345 and models before and after 99/00 year

Dont know much about them, very rare birds, because people cold get a New Holland TM for about the same money.

The UR4 range once started as a Zetor prototype project mid 70's, and they actually built a 9045 and 14045 prototype. Because Ursus wasnt up to improvements, they wanted to build numbers instead of update the series after 10 years of unchanged production.
Instead of producing a new range of heavy tractors with heavier rear ends, the 8045 and 12045 were turbocharged and sold as 10045 and 16045. To cope with the torque of the turbo 6, the first gear was taken out, making it a 12 speed.
Later in the 1985 update, the 14145 and 16145 could be fitted with an overdrive for 40 kmh speed, which did not increase the transmission load, only the rpm of the output shaft, so it was safe to get back to 16 speeds with 160 hp. (Ford did this very same trick in the TW series, they installed an overdrive and increased the rear axle reduction to get the same speed, but put more torque through the transmission, so they only had to beef up the rear axle)

The UR4 had the addition of a mechanical splitter next to the 2 spd multipower: this gave it 32 speeds, and the ability to shift from 3 high to 4 low with multipower, when the synchro splitter doubled the speeds.

The UR4 also came with a long stroke version of the 6.8 The stroke was increased from 120mm to 128mm giving a displacement of 7.3 liter for the 6, and 4.8 for the 4 cylinder.

There was also a manufacturer of stationary engines that used parts of the Crystal engine (heads, pistons, conrods, camshaft) to create a low rev (1500rpm) long stroke (150mm) industrial version of the Crystal engine, with a displacement of 8.5 liter.
I found this super long stroke engine in about 1998, the manufacturer is long gone now.

Thanks for reply.
I allready bought 18345 from '00 for 16.500e. It has 3.500 working hours and evrythink is OK and it looks like new. Just need usual servicing - oils, filters, electricall.

I have only one report on a main bearing problem in a 18345. I therefor think its an incidental problem with only this tractor, not with the entire series... ?
