front axle on a 3045

Hi,

I need help with the front axle of my 3045 ??? are these axles hard to refurbish? I took the front casing of the diff lock and the bearing fell at my feet in pieces! and there is a lot of play on the driven shaft going into the diff. Is this play unusual? and will it have done damage futher in?

Alright prople have nearly completely dismantled the front axle on the 3045 just a couple of questions;

The swivel housing at the outside end of the half shaft can it be dismantled?

If so how is it done?

Also any other advice on this axle would be helpful

do you want to take the swivel off the axle beam? or isit already off. rebuilt one of these a while back, nice job

Hi Matthew,

I have the swivel housing of and now face a CV joint that somebody has butchered at before! Is it possible to get a replacement zetor CV joint? or should I be looking for something about the same size of a more modern piece of kit to replace it?

OUCH! if you have to replace one of them joints they dont half cost a bit!! 4 years ago they were over 300 quid! parts for these axles are scarce! i had to get a complete half shaft for one side of my axle. thankfully it was in sound condition. all i had to do was replace all the bearings and seals in the axle.
