Hello

The front right wheel on my 4WD Zetor 6245 locks up and won't rotate on occasion. I can free it by attempting to move back and forth and moving the steering. It seems to be happening more and more.

any ideas on possible causes of this?

Thanks!

I guess it could be the reduction gearing in the wheelcentre which is broken. :(

Well my trusty Zetor 6245 is now not usable.
Seems like a broken gear in front differential. It locks up and if I try to go forward 1 wheel will go one way ( fwd ) and the other will go the other way (rev). Any suggestions? I'm thinking of taking the whole front axle off and bringing it somewhere to be fixed. Or can I rebuild the front axle myself? ( special tools needed?)

Any suggestions??

hmm... The front axle of a 6245 can be split in the middle. So it cant be that hard.
A 5245 front axle needs to be taken apart by pulling both driveshafts from the wheel sides and take off the rear cover. I think it is very do-able on a 6245...

I think in time, there isnt much difference between taking the front wheels of the axle, taking the steering off etcetera, bring it away and picking it up again after repair, than to take the axle itself apart and fix it.

Well I finally took my 6245 to dealer to see what can be done to fix the front axle differential.

Well some parts broke and in turn damaged most of the parts.

It's going to need a whol;e bunch of parts and a total rebuild and will cost be a fortune.

Does anyone know if I could find a used 6245 front axle somewhere in the USA or Cananda?

thanks

Automatic diff assy?
is it a automatic diff-locker? Does it fit the 6748? How much do you want for it?
