Gearbox and hidraulic oil for Crystal 10045

Hello everybody.

Recently I bought an old crystal 10045 with clucht problems. Today, when I repared this problems and before I starting working with the tractor I change all the liquids. My problem becomes when I am going to change gearbox and hidraulic system oil . The operators guide indicate that must be 80W but for hidraulic machines (wood chipper) is too strong. Some friends, with John Deere machines told me that put standar JC-20 (10W30) but I see too liquid for gearbox. What is the correct oil?

Gearbox oil 80w has the same thickness as motoroil 10w-30. Universal tractor oil 10w-30 is used on most zetor however i am not sure about 10045. A pure gearboxoil is more expensive than the tractor universal oil. I use trcator universal oil and it works OK wih the woodchipper as well as the gripping-crane and all other hydraulic equipment.

I think that depends on the country, or the supplier, as here, prices scale up from hydraulic oil (cheapest ) gearbox oils and engine oils (different oils but about the same price) to UTTO (universal tractor transmission oil, both hydraulics and transmission) to STOU (Standard Tractor Oil Universal, the universal oil for use in engine, transmission and hydraulics)

But i allways buy STOU because if you keep an opened barrel more than a year it will take up moisture from the air and age, and i dont use more than a 60l barrel a year..

In the Crystal backend you can use STOU or UTTO 10w/30, 15w/40 or anything inbetween.

You are right Renze sure the price vary from country to country. In Sweden a good quality STOU is almost half the price compared to pure gear-oil . I use Statoil a good value for money I believe or..

80W GL-4 is best, especially if you have different implements/ attachments that are hydraulic powered.
Like Renze said, the standard oil is the best and now most fluids are made to cover all GL-4 and GL-5 applications.
