Hi. I have just ended up taking 2 Zetor 8011 units from a client in PX for a boat so am trying to tidy them up a bit before finding them new homes.

On one of the tractors, the rear link arms do not go up and down when you move the control lever. Is there a separate procedure I am missing as it is many years since I last played with tractors.

Also, the PTO engages when you push the small lever on the floor to the RH side of the seat forward but grinds a bit when engaging - is there a clutch for this or is it meant to be a crash gearbox? I see there is a small pedal on left hand side of the cab floor near the seat- could this be it as at the moment it is stuck.

Also, the pto lever on the steering console doesnt seem to do anything.

Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated - I am a marine engineer by trade so the engine i can deal with but everything else is a bit alien to me!

These 2 units will be up for sale shortly so if anyone is interested, please let me know.

One has tidy tinwork and the other not so tidy. Both engines start and run well with only a little smoke when cold. No leaks worth mentioning and each have fairly old tyres but all hold air ok.

Wiring is non existant on both at the moment but will have new battery and alternator wiring before being sold.

Brakes work on both as do the clutches and all gears. Neither are currently fitted with pickup hitches. One has a fixed towing eye and rear linkage fitted, the other has nothing at present.

Both have cabs with doors. The not so tidy tractor has most of its cab glass (door bottoms and front low windows missing), the tidy one has all of its glass.

Many Thanks & Hope Someone Replies!

The pto lever on the floor next to the seat is for; IN Gear or Land Drive. Only ment to move with engine off i think.. The lever on the dash should be the pto clutch/brake and only works when the bottom lever is in gear. If the shaft still turns when in gear and the brake is on then the brake is worn, not the end of the world...

Re the hydraulics, the pump may not be in gear, its a small lever on the side of the clutch housing on the left under the front of the cab. These tractors can cavitate the pump when they are worn and not used for a while. Easy fix is to make sure the pump is in gear and then face the tractor down the steepest bank you can safely negotiate . this will usually get the pump working provided the oil level in the gearbox is OK. Dipstick is on the end of the filler plug between the gearsticks.
re PTO, as previously mentioned by jackpott, engage the lever on the floor on the left, this has no clutch between it and the engine, so engage at min revs or with engine stopped. PTO should then operate with small lever on the dash.If it doesn't check that the linkage hasn't become detached under the floor, you can just see it from the left side.If it still wont work get back to us !

Small pedal on the floor is the Differential lock, plenty of penetrating oil on linkage under right side of cab behind air tank will probably fix.

Hi Guys

Sorry for the delay but have been working in Greece for the past week and only just got back in the office.

Many thanks for your replies.

I did have a play with the 8011s before i went away and the PTO now seems to have sorted itself. The hydraulic pump is engaged so will check the gear oil level tomorrow and find a steep hill or ditch to poke the front end down!

Incidentally, I assumed that the pump etc was all ok as if you move the inner of the 2 hydraulic levers which i seem to recall control the valves on the rear of the tractor for tipper trailer service etc then the engine labours so it is certainly producing pressure.

Could there be any other reason why the rear link arms dont move? Was wondering if the lever could have come loose on its spindle or something inside the rear end broken or detached - any further thoughts would be greatly appreciated and will update after i have tried poking it's nose downhill!

Once again many thanks and Kind Regards

Sean
