Hi ZetorPeople

I did a stupid thing and used my foot to try to shift from Hi to Lo Range on the transmission. Well something broke and now I'm stuck in neutral and the range level just flops in the breeze.

I'm about to pull off the transmission cover if I can , to see what damage I did. Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Thanks
:(:(:(:(

you have probebly just broken the pin that sekurs the lever to the shaft taht goes innto transmisjon ,take off senter part off flor and try to fidel in a new pin

we replaced the C spring pin by a 6" nail hammered into the hole, then cut off. it doesnt wear like the rolled C pin does.

Thanks

Managed to pull off the transmission cover without removing the cab or splitting the tractor by doing some cutting , grinding and by taking a flex joint out of the steering column.

Found the problem to be that the shifting dog that moves the rail had sheared off where it was welded to the shaft that goes to the lever. Had to fish the dog out of the transmission case with a magnet, was lucky to find it there. will post some pictures, maybe tomorrow if I get a a chance.

Makes me feel better that I'm not the only one who has fallen victim to foot shifting the range lever :sneaky: The floor comes out without needing to cut anything, you just need to remove the gearstick and panels down the bottom of the steering column.

same thing happened to me with my 7745 once it broke in that exact same weld, but its not a wery common fault, the pinn in the lever was my guess too :)

HEre are some pictures of hi/lo speed shifter broken and then repaired
