hi all,

My 6945 loader tractor was getting slow on a loader cycle and the hydraulics where slow when lifting so i changed the pump. that has made a world of change when using the front end loader.

when i was changing the pump i noticed what looks like a direct feed port on the bottom front side of the pump mounting plate. is this a direct oil feed port? i have already put in a dump line to the gearbox to help the return oil flow.

Also my hydraulics are still not wonderful. they did work alot quicker with the new pump but were still very jerky and now they dont work at all, and i've tried the control levers in all the positions and the hydraulic speed valve but still can not get them to work.

any help or ideas is much appreciated

thanks Jack

Jerky hydraulics are allways a result of air in the system.

Is your oil level ok and is your suction filter screen clean ?

Oil level is fine and the suction filter was cleaned same time I changed the pump.

I will pop the hydraulic top cover off when the cows go out to grass and the loader isn't needed daily for feeding up.

I'm thinking it must be on the top link sensing.

you have your speed lever all open ? (dont know where exactly it is on a 9 series)

Yeah it's Open
They just didn't work one morning.
I was wondering if anyone has come across this before?

Renze, you ever been inside the hydraulic top cover?

Yes, but the symptoms you describe dont sound familiar, if you have already excluded the possibility of air in the system...

You may be right about air in the system. I took seat and cab floor out to check everything was connected It all looked fine. I checked the hydraulic top filter again as I was there and the oil looked abit foamy, so I drained a bit and it is very foamy.

Before I replaced the hydr pump the link arms would drop quite quickly and the system would have to correct itself often. It wasn't much better with the new pump fitted and now they are not working at all and the oil is very foamy I think I have an internal oil leak!

It will have to wait awhile till I have time to park the tractor up then I will set to and fix the old girl. Looking forward to having a look inside. :)

when the obvious is checked, look at the odds:

Is the O rings of the small standpipe that connects the diff housing pipe with the 3pt hitch coverplate, still intact ? these little shitty things often are the culprit.

Do you mean the 2 small o rings that seal the hydraulic pump mounting plate to the main lift pipe? If so then yes replace them when I did the pump.

I still have good hydraulic pressure as the front loader and sheer grab are working, with a very fast cycle time Just the link arms that are dead.

Why is it people are always so quick to run a zetor down? Spoke to a bloke yesterday bout it and he just started saying zetors are rubbish. You get what you pay for and so on........ They are quick not to mention any issues they have with a tractor, or say it's done a few thousand hours what do you expect, or it a common fault with that model. Does my head in!!

Zetors are good reliable tractors which are simple to fix but in there simplicity is real strength

Hi, I have an 8011 with similar issues. I have to bleed air out regularly when the pump will not prime by cracking open the pressure feed line on the LHS below the cab near the pump engage / disengage lever. No idea where it is picking up the air but it is worse in cold weather when oil is thicker. Just crack the union half a turn and run at half revs until you see oil and lock it up. Works for me until I have time to find the cause.

Hi Bruce

I have that same problem with my 12245, I got fed up with having to undo the pipe to bleed the system so I made a T piece up to take another feed line off the pump and put a tap on it. Now when it needs to be bled I just have to open the tap till oil runs out and the system is good to go again.

Never have been able to find out what causes it but I'm gonna split the tractor this autumn to do the clutch so I will have a look then.

Will keep you posted

Jack.;)
