Hello

I'm still learning my Zetor models. I do not understand the numbering system yet.

1st question is there a rule for the numbers ? like ABCD where the letters represent certain things? It appears that AB has to do with model and engine size and CD has to do with 2WD 4WD, but is there more to it than that?

Maybe we can list all the models here

I was told the 14045 and 9045 were early (late 70's) UR4 long stroke engined prototypes. However the communist state office wanted to go for production volumes instead of technology.

Hi Renze,

I know only that on 14045 were developing two sided steering. I will try to find about this more. I know some people which were helping to create UR II from 1960s.

Ursus used to sell a reverse drive 160 hp model, it was shown on their website with a heavy forest/brush chopper.

This one was depeloping for machine for cutting and chopping leafes(I hope that is right word) of sugarbeet.

Hi, be sure the numbers are codes that every czech tractor driver know, but only few numbers are used in serial models. Untill models cca 7745 were A approx. HP/10 and then B modernisation (range) nr. CD version for example 11 for 4x2, 13 for narrow, 16 for halftrack, 17 for high slope models, 23 for caterpillars, last 8 war safety cab (but time before 6 on pos. B means also safety cab!)and 4 on pos. C means 4x4. But mainly these models were only in ranges till middle 7Os, then only standard 11 and 45 at pos. CD. Now there are changes and CD is 20 for 4x2 and 40 for 4x4, modernisation is on D pos. for ex. 21, 41 etc. I know its a bit difficult...

There are many not well known serial models as 2023, 3016, 3017, 3035, 3013, 4016, 4045, 4714 (for rice), 3513, 3545, 5645, 5647, 7245H, 5213, 5243, 11245 etc.etc. and also many prototypes- i have a brochure about this, can send you some model numbers of prototypes. And at last there are special prototypes as UR V, i lived near Brno and remember test drives on roads with 4020, 7020, 8040etc. When i was in Zetor factory in cca 199
8, many of these very interested models were there and waiting for their destiny.

I havent heard before, of a 4714 !! Can you tell us more, or do you have a picture ?

i would also like to know abou the 4020 and 8040 models. I have seen pictures, they looked like Renault Ceres didnt they ? I thought they had a gearbox with 2 overdrive speeds like the Fendt 300 series and certain Landini models ?

Hi,
models 4714, 5714, and 6714 were produced in cooperation with japan Zetor dealer f. Iseki. Pics I have not but probably they seems something like 2514. This photo I send you via e-mail and also a few other pics of not very well known Zetors. Sorry but original pics are in very poor quality.
You are right, prototypes of UR V seems a bit like Ceres, I have no pics and dont remember any technical informations- its a few year ago, but what i remember is that these models were very difficult as other Zetor models and (mean higher techn. standard) and this was big problem for production of anything before 1989 in CZ.
I also remember very small Zetor 2520 which was presented on Brno Fair Ground in 1992 or 93 but know anything about this model.

The 2520 sounds interesting too, because i know Zetor is developing 40 and 50 hp compact tractors for the North American hobby market. Maybe they use the 2520 as a concept for the new compact models ?
