Just wondering if anyone can help with me with a question on lubricating oils.
I have read that one can use 10w/30 Universal Tractor Oil or 80W/90 gear oil for the transmission and hydraulics in Zetor Tractors. Are both oils equally as good or is one better that the other?
castrol has a oil called Agri mp universal tractor oil 15/w40 its great for these tractors. but i reccomend 80/w90 in the portals and front axel if you got a 4wd. 80/w90 is the oil they come with from the factory because its available worldwide wich other oils may not be. but use the agri mp 15/w40 from castrol its the best
i think the 10w/30 is more of an engine oil. but i guess you can use it but i think you will get a better hydraulick performance with the 15/w40 . thats what the dealer told me anyway.
it may sound odd but i dont like the fact that the suto has additives for wet brakes ect! so i dont ue it in engines. also i knew of a combine which had seriously low oil pressure and it had SUTO in the engine he changed the oil for engine oil oil pressure came up abit!
You have to bear in mind that the oil companys have spent millions developing these oils and all SUTO oils have a MIL-L spec number which along with Cat and other approvals means you can use them with absolute confidence in normal engines.
