Hi Guys

I got a 6245 with a loader, ever since I had the loader fitted I had trouble with it being slow , weak etc . ( even running at 1000 rpm ) I fitted a new pump new seals etc over the last couple of years . Guess what still got the same problem .

I have replaced the HYd oil a few times and when first replaced the system definately works better . But I noticed recently that after replacing the oil after only 10 hours use the oil looks milky which I beleive is from water in the system.

I read a few posts on the net and apparently just changing the oil in the system may not get rid of the water completely -

Can someone help me as to the best way to flush out the system to ensure all the water is gone before I put new oil back in it again

I been working on this one for five years so love to solve it .

Inky...

Water and oil will turn milky or brown (like a pint of Guinness as it is settling). If you still suspect water, I'd drain the oil, remove the filters and let the tractor stand for a few days in a well vented area - the warmer the better.

If this doesn't fix it, then water must be leaking into the oil somehow.

you can put diesel in the box and run for a few hrs this will flush any bad stuff out. then use fresh oil and filters. what oil are you using?

Hi Tom

Yes just like Guiness ,but not quite the same taste:)

I 'll give it a go , wish it was Summer ( i am in OZ just coming into winter ) a couple of our 40 degree days would have soon dried it out ...

Matt I am using HY GARD by JOHN Deere can you recommend anything else , ? Are you sure about the diesel , I thought of giving that a go before but was worried I blow up the tractor or wreck the pump....

Hi

Flushing with diesel will get the milky oil out but !! You're then left with new oil getting thinned down by the remaining diesel in the system ???
Try taking all the drain bungs out and undo any hydraulic pipes you can find and leave it overnight to drain. If necessary put a couple of gallons of universal oil in it, run it round and do the same procedure again.
