Hello
Could anyone tell me if i can get more power from my 14145 i
have fitted a 16145 engine but i would like more power at the PTO.
I herd about someone fitting a perkins v8 to a Zetor but don't
know if this is true.
some guys fitted a Perkins 6 pot into a Zetor , with a 4 cylinder hood, because of the shorter (lighter, thinner crank and bearings) build style of the Perkins.
Finnish peat harvesters use the 6 cylinder Crystal up to 230 hp.
I think the 6 cylinder Crystal engine will be more reliable at 230 hp than a turbo'd Perkins V8, given the poor reputation of Perkins, and the V8 in particular.
About a 141 with 161 engine, these engines were identical except for turbo and fuel pump adjustments.
I need more power at the pto to drive perision chop silage
harvester.
I was wondering where i could find out more about the engines
fitted to the Finnish peat harvesters
Just hook up an old 12 liter 360 hp truck engine to your forage chopper, have it being pulled by a 4712 or something, and use your 14145 to haul a silage trailer.
about the finnish peat harvesters using a 230 hp Crystal engine, i meant the people: The peat farmers use 16245 on triples, which are tuned from 160 to 230 hp, to pull 60 m3 peat trailers.
You can fit double turbo-chargers and oil cooler (you can get these from the tractor pulling boys) fuel pump and injectors from bigger zetor and maybey raise engine rpm, then you have maybey 300hp+ at pto and lots of nice smoke! but maybey the engine will go- crrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........boooom!!!
The engine wont goo boom... they can take it, as long as the exhaut temperature is under control, to prevent piston meltdown.
I am more concerned about transmission and clutch. The tractor is built on a 6 ton chassis.
Yes, the clutch would need replaceing with heavy duty type. the transmission would be ok. But the pto shaft might need replacing with stronger one because of extra torque??? you can also fit nitreous-oxide kit for extra-extra hp. I think I could get 1000hp+ from that motor It would be a nice machine
