Hi all great forum,
I have had (and still have) a 6718 for many years with no trouble what so ever, sadly it is now starting to fall apart & now i find Im going for a new tractor, I was thinkin maybe 7045-8045 or 8145. Something 4wd
I dont know much about any of these machines & i was hoping some of you could point me in the right direction as to which might be the best machine, I dont want to go too big or too small.
Its dutys would be mainly topping, moving round bales of silage & on a silage pit for the winter months.
thanks in advance for any info

I think, when you get the 8045 or 8145 you get the most reliability, to make the 7045 reliable it needs the factory modifications to be done.

The Zetor 7 series (your 6718 ) is one of the better tractors in that era. On the 0 and 2 series, they were loosing terrain with poor quality clutch and brake master cylinders, water pumps and the gear selector mechanism. For all these things there are easy fixes, or improved parts available. make sure that the 7045 has Fragokov master cylinders, the gear selector modification, and the water pump is o.k.

A master cylinder of improved quality, is 70 Euro. a water pump is 130 Euro and the gear selector modification is 15 Euro. the water pump is about 3 to 4 hours of work (if i remember properly) and the gear selector maybe 6 ?? but let the dealer do that. replaceing al three master cylinders is 3 hours including bleeding the system.
