hello My story - Zetor 6245 and more

Hello and welcome William!

Would be great to see some photos of your tractors. :)

a 6245 zetor , I also have a case 500 6 cylender diesel, super M farmall and a B52 kobota

Welcome, Can I ask? your Case 500, why did you write diesel after the name? your Zetor is diesel too. Your Case was it optional in 6 cylinder petrol?

Said diesel because Case made a smaller 500 later on not the same animal. Mine is wht they call a wheat land type as the later one was more of a row crop. The one I have was the first diesel Case made and they used that block for decades useing tourbos and getting I think 110 HP mine only has 70 HP

Is your Case a white colour like a Case David Brown or red like a Case International?

Ya I never seen an orange Case, they are before my time. We had Zetors on the farm since 1977, before that we had Fords, but I have nearly no memory of them. There was very few old tractors in Ireland used on a regular basis on farms. Some people have vintage tractors but not really for farm use.

I seen all white Case David Brown or white and orange David Brown or red Case David Brown before they became Case International or now just Case. Not every farm had a tractor in Ireland until the late 1960's because horses were still being used after WW11, as there was no diesel. So when tractors started being sold in large numbers on every farm, they were what was the newer ones at the time and that's why we don't have really old tractors from the 1940's or 50's, still on farms in Ireland.
