I need a engine block or short block for a 3340.

It froze up and has two holes in it the size of an apple.

Where can I find such an animal other than ordering one at the dealer?

we purchased a tractor with a piece the size of a slice of bread come out the side of the block. 7"x4" we had the piece in 2 halves and MIG wleded it back in. its a cheap option and sves a lot of work. you must really gring a bevel on the block and the broken piece then crank the welder up to about 180 amps and take it with care.

Hi

I don't know which country you are in but Eagle Tractor Parts was advertising a block for a 5211 on E Bay. I think this will fit yours but I'm sure someone will correct me if not.

Regards

Mike

If you choose to weld, weld a half inch at a time, with at least a minute interval, and weld in different spots each time.
Then use an angle grinder to smoothen up the surface, which slows down the cooling process and reduces crack risks.
I welded a top link bracket of a 2011 this way, and it still does fine.
