Hi, just signed up and now I want to see if anyone could help me get an engine for my zetor . I own a zetor 8045 and I want to convert it to a 12045. I am looking for a z8601 or a z8701 engine. I also have two other zetors wich are working great. Nice website by the way.

Please help me / Linus

Linus,

Welcome to Zetorworld!

A six cylinder Zetor engine could be obtained from a donor tractor or from a tractor scrapyard
BUT
will this fit inside the 8045 frame? I don't believe that it will. The 12045 has a longer frame to accomodate the extra length of the 6 pot engine.

It would definitely be easier to buy a complete tractor as there are other gotchas e.g. air filter size, length of bonnet (hood).

it is easy to fit a 6 pot into a 4 pot chassis, I have even seen a V8 slotted into it>:)

Hi
I am from the middle part of Sweden. Sweden is a country where the Zetors are bought up by the polish workers, so every scrapyard and all donor tractors around here does not have any engines. I am willing to go shopping abroad to get this tractor to work. By the way the frame is not a frame, it is only two pieces of iron where you can attach things that are easily lengthened if you need to with a six cylinder engine. the hood is also easy to lengthen with some sheet metal. The exhaust is the same, and I think the air cleaner also. The radiator though is bigger I think, but that is no problem with an electric fan in front of it. The only thing that is risky is to lengthen the propeller shaft for the front axle, but I think I will manage that with a lathe. I have read alot about this so I hope somone has a engine for me. Feel free to discuss ay type of zetor problems with me Ive had both ur1 and ur2 series. Any help would be great! / Linus Skyttner
