I recently purchased a 5211. I think (but not positive) I know what the levers do. The far left lever with knob on end operates brakes, the one next to it with knob on other end if the brake for PTO. The two levers on floor, the left one operates the PTO and the one on the right is the hi-low selector. To the right of the seat, the small lever closest to the seat is frozen, I do not know what that does. I have seen that is is the D-M-P lever, but unfamiliar with its function. The middle lever operates the hydraulic output. The far right lever operates the PTO lift.
I need to know the correct procedure for engaging the PTO. I am getting a lot of grinding when I go to engage the PTO into either the 1000 RPM or 540 RPM position. I have tried engaging the clutch while moving the selector lever but it still grinds. The only way I have found that it works is to start the machine with the PTO engaged.
You mean pull it up to declutch, engage the gear and then let it down to engage the PTO
Dont let that PTO clutch lever pulled up for more than 5 minutes or it can run hot. Use it only for intermittent interruptions, normally you put the PTO out of gear and let the clutch down again. (also you'd have no oil pump drive with the lever pulled up)
