Where is the oil filter on the 6211, is it on the right side of tractor as you sit on seat in can? Also can you attach a picture of the filter needed to replace it or a website on Ireland that stocks it? Last thing is there much difference to changing oil filter than changing fuel filter ( as I done them in a previous thread)

The filter is on the right side under the alternator and you don't change it, you clean it and refit back on. You need to open and clean it. I can talk it through it you like ?

Yeah if you don't mind.

I presume your going to change the engine oil too, So right first run the tractor till warm or do this after working it, open the bung drain the oil, open the bolt on the top of the filter outer housing, take it off the filter is a silver filter inside.

Put into your vice open the top nut and shove out the bottom part, clean inside the silver parts might need a screwdriver and clean the gauze filter too, blow out the jets underneath, put all back together but watch underneath there are two mark lines that must correspond on the silver filter. Then refit.

Yeah I am. Okay I will, do I need to fill the filter with oil again , also do I need to bleed it.

So open top but on hosting and he filter drops down is it?

Then put in vice and separate the filter from another outer housing is it ?

Is there many different pieces inside the filter.

Thanks

No you don't refill it, it's upside down on the tractor, when you restart the engine it fills up, that's why you'll need to check the dipstick.

When you open the outer housing bolt you will have to lift off the silver filter, it spins on a shaft, No you put the silver filter into the vice to loosen that nut to separate it. The silver filter is very big and the nut will be very tight you'll never be able to hold it without using a vice.

Inside the silver filter there will only be the gauze filter and turn upside down to clean the 2 jets

And remember to make sure you line up the two marks on the bottom of the silver filter, they must correspond

Thanks. Are them marks to be lined up when outing back the filter (say in vice ) or when I'm putting it back onto tractor

Is there a O Ring I have to watch out for ( when I bolt it back onto tractor )

There is one mark on either part of the silver filter, so line them up when you have cleaned the filter and are re assembling it before you tightening the nut in the vice again.

There is an o ring on the outer housing but it should stay on the bolt when you open it.

It's a simple enough job when you do it once, you'll find it easier to do the next time.

The silver filter spins on the shaft so you have back in place you can spin by hand to see it's smooth before you put outer housing back on

When you put the silver filter into the vice, put an old rag around the filter to protect it and don't squeeze the vice too tight either as the silver filter is only made of aluminium you could damage or break it.

Took off and cleaned the oil filter when I replaced oil today. Question - on the transmission oil dipstick under gear level, there are 3 notches on the stick. Low middle and high , between low and middle there are like scratched / notches. What do the 3 levels mean ie where should I be filling to ?

Thanks

The 3 notches are different levels, the top level would be to suit a front loader or hilly land, so I say to leave oil level at the middle notch unless you have a loader or something that's uses a lot of oil for hydraulics like a hedgecutter.

Thanks wasn't sure. Don't have a need for that so middle will do. Thanks
