there is an oil leak from the rear wheel hub on my 4511 is this a simple task, the bottom of the reduction gear housing can be removed exposing part of the gear wheel , how is it held in place? .I havent done anything yet in case its best left alone.

Its held in place with large castle nuts, locked by locking sheets. You need a special wrench to undo the castle nuts. costed me about 17 euro.
Then take out the axle stub and replace the seal.

Another thing that might be worth trying, is to get a small bottle of this seal and gasket cure for transmissions: Old oil seals get hard, and this oil additive helps to soften the seal so it will better adapt to the shape of the axle its wrapped around.
