Hi all.
Our club recently purchased an old zetor tractor (1960s/70s)
It came fitted with a car battery and we've been told won't start as not powerfull enough. Is there an engine/ vin no stamped on body to help us get to the age of tractor so we can source parts etc.
Any info you can give us would be great.
The battery on at mo has c/a of 550 which we've been told is not enough.
I will take a photo tomorrow to post if that helps getting an age to the old girl
Many thanks

Hi
If it is 60-70`s ur1 there should be a plate beneath and to the left of the instrumencluster vith bildyear and numbers for the engine and tractor.

ive got battery out of a 1.9vw diesel in one of mine, it was nearly new when the brother in laws car died, seems to be man enough for the 3 cylinder zetor , but generally its a good idea to fit the largest battery that will fit in the space.
my tractors can go weeks without being started , i keep a solar charger on them all, they seem to just keep the batteries topped right up
