The last belt driven piece of equipment we had, was a firewood saw: We took a wheel of an old car and put that against the belt pulley on the implement, and bolted a flange with splined PTO stump between the wheel bolts, so we can drive it with any standard PTO shaft, without the hassle of aligning the belt and fixing the sawbench to the ground, to be able to tension the belt..
