5211 --got new shift lever boot--not going to fight the shifter spring--so need boot that fits the shifter diameter-(silicone adhesive does wonders)---but need a boot that is couple of inches longer to go through the floorboard----anything come to mind?? Saw a Ford boot on ebay that might do the trick.. -----Gotta take all precautions..got hyd fluid changed today and lift works much better--it had lots of water in it..Gotta keep it out this time--all the boots were rotten and torn up..Replacement hi/lo and PTO boots fit good--now just got to seal up the shifter lever..Any thoughts??
Thanks

Looks like a heavy spring with lots of pressure. Everything I do is with no help so I have decided to just rig up something somehow.. Afraid I'll get it apart and not be able to get it back together. In this part of the world Zetor is so UNKNOWN I doubt I could get anyone to touch it to fix it. By the way, what are mole clamps? Thanks

Mole Grips are known in the states as Vise Grips http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Irwin-Vise-Grip-10-250mm-Fast-Release-Mole-Grips-/121097828511?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1c31fe389f#ht_732wt_1170 Very usefull in any toolbox!!

Keep in mind the boot you are replacing it with has a hole in it anyway, it is the only breather the gearbox has. So replacing it is not going to keep water out, you just need to make sure you keep water away from that area. Don't block up the hole, the boot will likely pump up like a balloon or blow a seal somewhere else when you lower the linkage!!

I saw the hole in the boot and the holes near the base of the shifter. What I plan to do is come up with something that will be water tight around the lever itself(with help of silicone sealer/adhesive)then basically from there just an umbrella shape/cone shape to extend through the floorboard. By doing this the breather hole/holes won't be restricted. There must be a boot out there for something that has a 3/4" hole and a couple of inches longer than the original boot..If not, I will make one out of an old inner tube---I think this can be done and it be more effective than the original..Thanks for any and all input.

Finally came up with an old inner tube and made a wrap around skirt to extend the shifter boot. Going to work good and not look bad either if that matters..
