Thanks Renze for your guidance, so far have replaced head gasket, cleaned out clogged radiator, replaced rev cable, oil change and cleaned the worst dirt I have ever found in an oil filter I was suprised it was still rotating. Still have to seal power steer ram and add a coolant bottle to the radiator so I don't waste it on the ground. I am adding a 63mm s/s pipe for the exhuast and dreaming of a turbo. What I would like to know is how you adjust diesel pump on my 5945? I read other posts and still are not clear on where to adjust this pump, the cold start nut just rotates and does not seem to affect it. So I am wanting comfirmation on where to adjust, as I want to see a little black smoke. CHEERS all
there is a very thin counternut holding the threaded cold start button in place. undo that, then see to turn that cold start button out, without damaging the thread. Dont know how the factory made them, but the cold start buttons turn around over these threaded bushes on all machines i ever touched. You need to grip it without damaging the thread.
Dont go too wild with the fuel, a little grey smoke gives a little power, but when going beyond that, thick black smoke gives a lot of fuel consumption and very little extra power, plus the risk of burning a hole in one of the pistons.
