three point hitch and what do thesse settings stand for

Sometimes the internal cam and roller setup gets damaged when the tractor hangs up on the 3pt lift with the rear wheels off the ground.

Try to lift the arms manually and drop them. if the mechanism is stuck, it will probably start moving again.

Did you shift the pump correctly ? The line to the external lift cylinder didnt break ?

Settings mean P= position control, for transport boxes and any thing where the hight has to be constant, D= draft control, for soil engaging implements where a bit of weight transfer is required and M= a mix of both.
If your lever is very loose, look under the cab floor under the lever and make sure the linkage hasn't come loose.
Always check that the pump is engaged.

I have a 5211 and i have cleaned the magnetic filter which was dirty. The 3 pnt hitch won't even try to move. Its all the way down. Any suggestions?

On the Crystals they used to have the same problem where the arms wouldn't come up, and the solution there was to open off the return bung and hit a screw in there with a long screwdriver and hammer. I don't know if your tractor has that.

If the cylinder inside has a leak it also stop lifting. Did you try bring the handle up to the last and get out and lift the arms manually see will the oil come back? And you have enough oil in it too?
