I've just bought a 2 metre heavey duty mulcher. It doesn't have any slip clutch on it. The machinery bloke said that belts would slip before a break on the tractor gear box. I'm thinking of fitting a slip clutch to the pto shaft. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this matter? All advice greatlfully received., thanks Mike

Indeed the belts dampen the torsional vibration and limit the torque as well. a great method to drive high inertia, high vibration machinery.
